titus

March 2013

Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus was adapted by Ashley Chang and Chana Rose Rabinovitz to create titus. Titus sought to prove that every character has a story worth telling and a story worth following. Titus was an immersive theatrical experience set on Stanford's Lake Lagunita. Audience members followed characters as scenes happened simultaneously in various locations on the lake.

Cowboy Mouth

December 2012

Written by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith, Cowboy Mouth is an essentially autobiographical work about their affair. The show was the premier production of The Freeks, kicking off an exploration of the underbelly of theater. Cowboy Mouth was presented in the Kairos, a Coop on campus. Audience members entered what is known as the Pool Room in Kairos to find Slim (played by Evie Fitzgerald) and Cavale (played by Maia Kazin) already occupying the space.

Rhinoceros

November 2013

Rhinoceros was written by Eugene Ionesco and is a part of the Theatre of the Absurd movement. Rhinoceros took place in three different locations in the Elliot Programming Center on Lake Lag and experimented with different modes of audience interaction and placement. Audience members were invited to engage with the spaces, becoming diners in a café and office workers.
